Counter argument

Sports drinks like Gatorade claim that we need those electrolytes and carbohydrates to better our rehydration and that is beneficial when taken. Truth of the matter is unless you are doing a very intensive work out you really shouldn’t be taken any sports drink just to quench your thirst. If you do take that Gatorade or PowerAde just because you feel thirty your taking in a excess of salt and carbohydrates that just hit your waist line. The best option to rehydrate your self or quench your thirst is simply to drink plain water. If two big sports drink company’s are suing each other over the reliability of there sports drinks then there is something wrong with that picture.

I never thought eating mcds so much could affect your health in so many different ways. After you watch super size me you really will think twice about the mcds you seem to love and enjoy. In Super Size me Morgan Spurlock tests out to see what happens when you eat McDonalds for 30 days. He is a good healthy man when he begins the experiment as he goes on he begins to notice changes in his body and his mood. I didn’t no that if u ate to much mcdonalds that you could really hurt your liver and gain weight extremely fast.
You can also affect other parts of the body and also the moods your in like Morgan he was depressed when he didn’t have mcds once he had it he became energized, Mcdonalds had become an addiction to him. In the movie I was amazed at how big fast food companies cant be sued because there protected by a specific law witch says u cant sue them for your health problems because of eating there product. The bad thing also that I learned about Super size me is how tmcds targets children with there toys and there indoor playground looking to hook the kids up on there food.
But it all comes down to ones personal choice you can ether choose not to eat there food or become another statistic because you turn obese. There is a problem with that sentence, what if the closest food source is a mcds what then? Do you starve or is there a way to solve that issue. But if you do have a grocery near to your crib you really should go there because mcds according to nutritionists in the movie mcds should never be eaten.

Cheap processed food good? Good for other peoples pockets!


Ever wonder why its so cheap to buy a cheeseburger from your local fast food restaurant. Why is it that the meat you buy from your local market is processed by 3 major companies. Food Inc. was a true blind fold of my eyes for me and if you watch you will have the same surprised reaction I had. Big fast food companies really don’t show any interest in saying how there food is processed or how bad they are.
All these major companies are constantly chasing after good farmers who don’t treat there animal like there objects like the big companies do. Animals raised in the interest of companies suffer the worst treatment you can think of, for example cows who are suppose to be fed grass and who are born grass eaters, are being fed corn and kept in there own manure and make them really sick, they are treated like they have no feelings and are just part of the assembly line.
The workers who work for these major companies are also treated horribly they are exposed to so many dangers and infections they can catch from the animals they handle. The movie really shows how our food is being controlled by a handful of major companies like Tyson and Perdue, the food they handle costs the planet land and pollutes our world and to them is nothing but money and cost effectiveness and no concern for the world.

sports drinks and false advertisement

Despite Gatorade claims that its drink is good for the body. The truth is Gatorade is bad for most peoples health over time. If not used properly people can cause really bad harm to there health. But how can one say its bad if the advertisement claim the total opposite of this. We cant always go for what an advertisement says because not all advertisements tell you the negative side to product. Advertisements tell us what we want to hear not the opposite. We see a famous person advertising Gatorade then we want to have the product. How do we know if sports drinks are safe to drink?
Gatorade claims that if you drink there product it will revitalize the lost nutrients when one sweats. They say that one needs to take in carbohydrates and electrolytes to better our rehydration. What are electrolytes? it is just a more complicated way to say salt. And the carbohydrates provide energy, but unless you are doing some activity that really dehydrates you, drinking Gatorade while do nothing it is just consuming calories for no reason.
But yet they convince us with there advertisement that it is necessary for us to have carbohydrates and electrolytes in a sports drink. In advertisements we see all these people running and then after getting so tired they grab a Gatorade or any other sports drink and then they seem so relaxed and there thirst is all gone. They make us want those sport drinks , and believe it or not people want to be like those people on TV especially the famous people. Big companies are always going to give us all the positives of there drinks but there never going to announce whether there good for our health.
If you are having for example a Gatorade with a pizza your taking in an excess of carbohydrates sugar and electrolytes that you really wouldn’t need unless you involved in a activity that makes you sweat a lot. These types of drinks are bad for your teeth if you drink them on a daily bases and not using the drink for what it’s meant for which is to rehydrate. Also since the sports drinks contain so much sugar its bad for people with diabetes . We drink sport drinks thinking its going to help us with our work out or our sport , but we don’t stop to think what they contain. Majority of sport drinks like Gatorade contain ingredients that are bad for our body.
One of the worse ingredients that these sport drinks contain is called high fructose corn syrup. High fructose corn syrup is a sweetener that can be worse for you even more then sugar. In reality a sport drink contains more sugar than u can imagine or think it has. When you drink a Gatorade, for example you may be all hyped and running back and forth , but when you least expect it you get a major crash. all sport drinks have that effect no sport drink is going to last for a long time as u expect it to. People who are sensitive to aspirins cant drink sports drinks because it can cause them allergic reactions. A simple drink can cause unhealthiness to your body and sometimes you wont even notice.
Do sports drinks really help you? The answer is “yes“. If sports drinks are taken as they are suppose to , they can help you. If you are playing a sport or working out and are sweating or running a marathon, then you are dehydrating. You have one of two options you can either have water or a sports drink that not only dehydrates you, but replenishes the burn of carbohydrate and the lost salt or also know as electrolytes . These types of drinks claim they replenish the amount of salt you loose when sweating. The Carbohydrates help keep you energized providing the extra energy you need to continue on with your activity. For someone who participates in a marathon or does extensive long amount of exercise. They can have a sport drinks. The extra calories, sugar and electrolytes in a sports drinks can be justifiable. Sports drinks are better taken by adults then children.
The advertisements for sport drinks like Gatorade may be very persuasive but I personally I am not for them. In my perspective there are more negatives than positives towards these sports drinks like Gatorade or any other sports drinks. I find it hard to believe that these sports drinks can have positive side to them, or how parents let there children have sports drinks when there better of just having plain and simple water. People who want to avoid sports drinks but want to not have just plain water there are ways you can create a drink that can replenish the “electrolytes”, “carbohydrates” and rehydrate you .

“How can I manage to eat healthy without hurting my wallet?” you ask yourself. Well I will tell you how, with my help you will eat healthy and have enough money left over to buy clothes and complement your healthy body. I will give you tips on how to change your habits, if it’s eating fast food or spending money on food you don’t eat. By the end of this presentation you will have the necessary knowledge to eat healthy and save money.
“How can I accomplish this goal?“ You can accomplish this goal by first of all things stop eating fast food, all that unhealthy food which can only hurt your body. Stop wasting money on food you end up leaving to rot in your house. If you shop a lot in the middle section of the super market your going to have to start shopping on the outer sections which contain good healthy vegetables and fruits.
These outer section products are good for making hood home cooked meals, cooking your food with fresh products is a very good. So much diversity in the types of plates you can cook. All you need is a good recipe book or internet access, if you have a desire to eat Mexican food a good recipe book is “1000 Mexican Recipes” by Marge Poore. In that book you can find how to make yourself a good Mexican tamale or any other Mexican dish you may crave.
If you don’t want to waste money and want a diverse amount of recipes the internet is a good place to do your search. A page like http://allrecipes.com/Recipes/Main.aspx is a good source to find free recipes. It has recipes for European, Mediterranean, Dominican food lovers or people that are vegetarian. Now buying the ingredients for these recipes is were you have to be smart and have a good eye to save money. Ingredients such as vegetables are good to buy when they are in season, this means that that vegetable is being harvested and is there is a great abundance of them there for it brings down there cost. You can also save and buy other ingredients when they are on sale.
A good option to save money on your ingredients is frozen foods like frozen peas. They can be cheaper then fresh food and taste the same, Organic food is always a good option for eating healthy and keeping the environment good and healthy. But spending money on organic food may not always save you money. Mainly because organic food is expensive due to the cheapness of junk food and other unhealthy products. You can also save money when you want a healthy snack buy throwing
In all you want to eat nutritious food and learn how to buy food when its on special or in season. And if you cant learn to cook from a recipes there is always some one like your mother to help you. Also if you have a habit of buying large quantities of a product and only eating half of it it’s a waist of money. If you want a snack don’t have a bag of chips be create full and have make your own little snack from food that’s healthy.
